My old mail route had 600 stops and the loop I skipped every Tuesday was the one that made the day work
Everyone in my office swears you have to walk every loop in order or the whole day falls apart. I ran route 14 in Toledo for three years and every Tuesday I cut the cul-de-sac section first thing, before the sun came up, because those 40 houses all had boxes clustered by the garage and nobody was awake to flag me down. My supervisor caught me 6 months in and told me to knock it off, so I did it his way for two weeks and finished 45 minutes later every single day. The math was right there, but he never asked why, he just saw a skipped street on the scanner report. Has anyone else had a boss fight you on something you could actually measure?
