Pro tip: stop overcooking your rice by using the finger method
I kept getting mushy rice for years. Followed the package directions exactly. Still a mess. Then a friend from Thailand showed me the knuckle trick. Put your fingertip on top of the rice. Add water until it reaches your first knuckle. Works every single time. No measuring cup needed. Has anyone else had better luck with old school methods over modern tools?

Knuckle trick is a lifesaver. My grandma used to just eyeball it and somehow never messed up, but I need that knuckle as my safety net. Tried a rice cooker once cause everyone said it was foolproof, burnt the bottom and left the top crunchy. Old ways beat expensive gadgets every time.

Yeah, why do these gadgets always let us down when we need them most? Same thing happened with my aunt's fancy air fryer, took three tries to make decent fries. The knuckle method never lies, grandma knew what she was doing.
