Spent 2 hours arguing about book endings in my Austin book club

Last Tuesday night my local group read a mystery novel. I thought the ending was weak because the killer got caught by luck. The other 5 members said it was clever writing. We went back and forth for 2 hours over wine. How do you handle it when everyone in your group sees the same story completely different?

2 hours arguing about book endings" - man that sounds like my group arguing about whether pineapple belongs on pizza for 3 hours straight at Denny's once. We never did settle it but the waitress gave us free coffee refills cause she felt bad.

Maybe the coffee was her way of taking a vote for team "pineapple is just fine.

Wait hold on. The waitress gave you FREE REFILLS because she felt bad? Man, that's wild. Usually they're all about getting you out the door ASAP, not hooking you up with more coffee. She must have really needed that tip or something. Or maybe she was just as invested in the pineapple debate as y'all were, trying to butter you up for her take. That's a solid win though, free coffee beats settling an argument any day.
