Stood in line at the old hardware store downtown today and realized it still has the same crooked floorboards from 1998
The guy behind me was complaining about the slow register, and I thought about how I used to go there with my grandpa to pick out nails by the pound. Has anyone else noticed how some places just refuse to update anything and it somehow feels better that way?

Right that store has that same squeaky floorboard near the paint section too lol.

Ha! You know what, I used to think I was imagining it at first. I'd walk through that aisle and hear that exact same squeak and just figured it was my shoes or something. But once I actually stopped and listened, yeah, it's totally that same spot by the paint. Funny how you can go to a place a hundred times and not notice little things like that until someone points them out. I'm definitely gonna hear it every time now.

Wait what's the deal with that squeaky board by the paint section? I was just in there last week and I swear I heard something different, like a thud more than a squeak. Did they maybe patch it up or is it just me? I'm gonna have to go back and step on it a few times now just to check.
