The morning I picked the 15 minute drive over the 5 minute one

Gas was $3.89 at the station by my house but $3.41 at the one near my sister's place, so I drove the extra 10 minutes to fill up my 12 gallon tank. I saved about $5.76 but burned roughly a gallon getting there, which eats into that pretty quick. Do you math out the drive cost on stuff like this, or just go with the cheaper pump?

Nah, I usually just go with whatever's closest and pretend the savings don't exist. One time I drove 20 minutes extra for cheaper gas and ended up buying a coffee and donut at the station, so I basically broke even on the whole thing. Math just ain't my strong suit.
