Feedback from a coworker made me rethink my whole filing system

My buddy Jeff said I was wasting time by sorting everything alphabetically instead of by date. He showed me how he groups things by project phase and honestly it cut my search time in half. Has anyone else had a random piece of advice that totally flipped your workflow?

And honestly, that kind of feedback is gold because sometimes we get so stuck in our own routine we don't see the forest for the trees. I had a similar moment when a coworker mentioned that my email folders were overkill and I just needed a "needs reply" folder and an archive folder. Now I barely touch the search bar, which is wild considering how much I used to rely on it.

Oh man, that's such a good point! I've noticed the same thing happens with so many routines - like how I used to have a million different laundry baskets for sorting colors and now I just do lights and darks and call it a day. Sometimes the simplest systems really are the best, idk why we overcomplicate stuff.

Actually thats kinda funny because email folders are even worse than laundry sorting for overcomplicating things. I remember having like 30 folders for different projects and clients and then I realized search works way better than trying to remember where I put stuff. Now I just archive everything and use search when I need it.
