Hit 10,000 steps on my fitbit for 60 days straight and then something weird happened
I mean, I been trying to get more active so I set a goal of 10k steps a day. I hit it every single day for 60 days. Then on day 61, I only did like 4,000 steps because it was raining and I was tired. But I actually felt better that day? Like less sore and not as cranky. My body was like finally a break. Idk maybe it's just me but is it possible to overdo a step goal? Has anyone else hit a milestone and then realized it was too much?

Saw a study once that said 7,000 steps is the real sweet spot for health benefits.

My phone auto-corrected 7,000 to 8,000 once and I almost started a fight in the comments section lol. You're right though, that study had a lot of fine print about age and activity levels that everyone skipped over. 9,000 is a solid target if you've got the time but 7,000 is still way better than just sitting all day.

Pretty sure that 7,000 number got way overblown. The original study from a few years back actually said the benefits started to level off around 8,000 to 10,000 for most people, not just hit a wall at 7,000. 7,000 is fine and way better than nothing, but the real sweet spot seems higher depending on age and fitness level. If you're younger, like under 60, they found around 9,000 was where the biggest drop in health risks happened. So yeah, 7,000 is good but not the magic number people act like it is.
