Hot take: bamboo sheets are actually terrible for sleeping

I bought a set of 1000 thread count bamboo sheets from Target last month because everyone online swore they're life changing. Three weeks in and I'm waking up sweaty every night because they trap heat worse than my old cotton ones. Anyone else find bamboo sheets overhyped or did I just get a bad brand?

Ok so real quick, that "1000 thread count" thing on bamboo sheets is kind of a gimmick actually. Bamboo fibers are naturally shorter than cotton ones, so they physically can't weave up to 1000 threads per inch the way cotton can. Most of those high numbers are just marketing, not real quality. Also, some bamboo sheets are processed in a way that uses chemicals, and those cheaper ones trap heat way more because the fibers aren't as breathable. You probably got a bad batch, but even good bamboo can be hit or miss depending on the weave. Look for sheets labeled "100% bamboo lyocell" instead if you try again, they tend to hang onto less heat.

LOL I bought the exact same ones from Target and I basically turned into a human puddle by morning. My dog won't even sleep on my bed anymore because I'm apparently running my own personal sauna in there.

Man honestly this is just how everything is now. I swear every single product category has some huge marketing lie baked into it. Like with sheets it's always thread count or "bamboo" or whatever buzzword sounds fancy. But it's the same thing with mattress toppers, towels, even pillows now. They slap some trending word on the box and suddenly everyone thinks they're getting some luxury experience. Meanwhile you're just roasting in your own bed like a rotisserie chicken. Feels like half the stuff we buy is just clever packaging and not actual quality anymore.
