Just found out bald eagles don't actually scream like in movies
Turns out that iconic screech is from a red-tailed hawk, and eagles just make these little chirps and squeaks. Watched a video from a bird rehab in Ohio and felt kinda lied to by Hollywood my whole life, anyone else get that?

Yo WHAT?! No way man, that can't be real. I've seen those bald eagles in movies my whole life, that scream is like their whole identity. Honestly, I'm actually kinda mad about this, feels like a childhood betrayal. Ngl, now I'm gonna be that guy pointing it out every time I watch a movie with an eagle in it. That's actually wild, I gotta go fact check this right now.

Seth, I get your shock, but calling it a "childhood betrayal" feels a little dramatic, doesn't it? I mean, it's a sound effect in a movie, not like we grew up thinking eagles could talk or something. Hollywood uses fake sounds for everything, from horses galloping on pavement to that weirdly crisp sound of someone being punched. If you want to be mad, be mad at the red-tailed hawk for getting typecast better than most human actors.
