Just realized my neighbor waters his lawn at 2 PM every day

I was sitting on my porch yesterday watching this guy drag out his hose in the middle of the afternoon while it was 92 degrees outside. He stood there for 45 minutes soaking his grass while the sun was blasting down. I wanted to yell something about evaporation loss but I held back. Later I heard him complaining to another neighbor about his water bill being $120 last month. I don't get how people can ignore basic stuff like watering times when the info is everywhere. Do you guys ever see neighbors doing lawn care stuff that makes zero sense or am I the weird one for caring about it?

Did you ever notice how some people will complain about prices but won't change one simple habit? I had a neighbor once who ran his sprinkler during a rainstorm and I still can't figure out what he was trying to accomplish.

Read something similar online the other day. Guy was complaining about grocery prices but drove his truck through Starbucks every morning. Seven dollars a day for coffee. That's like two hundred bucks a month. Just making coffee at home would save him so much. But he kept saying he didn't have time.

My friend Jenna told me her neighbor would water his driveway. Not the lawn, the driveway. He'd stand there hosing down the concrete while his flowers were wilting in the bed next to him. She asked him why he does it and he said he likes the way the water makes the pavement look darker. His water bill was pushing $200 and he couldn't figure out where it was going. She just had to walk away from that conversation.
