The drywall texture at my old place vs my new place is driving me crazy
Moved from a 1970s apartment in Austin to a place built in 2019, and the walls went from heavy orange peel to smooth. I swear the old texture hid every little flaw, now I notice every tiny crack and nail pop in the new place. My landlord said it's just how modern builders do it, but it feels like I traded character for maintenance anxiety. Has anyone else found themselves obsessing over wall texture after a move, or am I just being weird about drywall?

Read somewhere smooth walls show everything but orange peel traps dust. Trade one headache for another.
