Warning: switching from plastic to metal water bottles quietly added a pound to my daily carry without me noticing for a whole week
I grabbed my old Nalgene after using a stainless Hydro Flask for a month and the weight difference was so obvious I finally understood why my shoulders felt sore on hikes through Red Rocks last Saturday, has anyone else overlooked something this small and paid for it later?

Oh man, the "quietly added a pound" part got me. I did the exact same thing with my backpack, swapped out an old Jansport for a "tactical" one and wondered why my back hurt after casual walks. Felt like I was training for a ruck march or something.

Bet the heavier fabric and extra pockets added way more weight than anyone realizes.
