Hit 1,000 library books checked out this morning, no idea how it happened

I went to return a stack of picture books for my kid and the librarian casually mentioned my account just crossed 1,000 checkouts. That number felt huge, we've been going to the same branch in Tacoma since she was a baby, so about 8 years now. It made me think of all the rainy afternoons and bedtime stories that added up without me noticing. Has anyone else ever looked at a random counter and realized how much time actually passed?

Man, that librarian probably sees your family's whole life story in those numbers. 1,000 books is like a small library of your kid growing up, from board books to whatever she's into now. It's wild how we never notice the slow build of things, until some random counter pops up and suddenly you're doing the math in your head. I bet if you could see the titles in order, it would read like a diary of her changing interests and your bedtime routine. That number isn't just books, it's proof of showing up, week after week, even on the days you felt too tired to read another one.
