Just realized my $14 thrift store sander saved my hands after 3 hours of drywall work

Picked up a used orbital sander from a church sale in Boise for 14 bucks, and after my third hour hand-sanding that seam line I knew I couldn't go back, anyone else have a random tool that turned out to be your best money spent all month?

That sanding dust gets everywhere, but the real win is how much less tired my shoulder feels the next day. I mean, hand sanding for three hours has you twisting your wrist in ways your body just wasn't made for. Maybe it's just me, but I found that using a finer grit paper on the orbital makes the drywall finish way smoother than I ever got by hand, so the sander pays for itself in fewer coats of mud too.
