Our fridge ice maker broke and I finally learned how to fix it myself
Last Tuesday our ice maker just stopped working. No noise, no ice, nothing. I watched three YouTube videos and found out it was a frozen water line. I took the whole thing apart, used a hairdryer on the line for about 5 minutes, and put it back together. It started making ice again by the next morning. Saved myself at least $150 on a repair call. Has anyone else had luck fixing their own appliances like this?

A buddy of mine tried that hairdryer trick on his fridge too and it worked.

Honestly that trick only works if the coils are clean first, nobody mentions that part.

Oh man, I tried fixing our dishwasher once and ended up with a puddle on the floor and a newfound respect for plumbers. Your ice maker story is way more successful than my saga, good for you. I bet that hairdryer felt like a tiny victory, all that ice busting away.
