That one comment from a stranger at the grocery store checkout
I was at the self checkout at Kroger yesterday, just trying to get through my cart of 12 items without the machine yelling at me. The lady behind me said, "You look like you're about to lose it on that screen." It was such a small thing but it actually made me laugh, which I really needed after a long day of nothing going right. Has anyone else had a random comment from a stranger totally shift your mood?

Got a buddy who was having the worst day at Target, his kid screaming in the cart, and this old man just walked up and said, "Hang in there, that little one's got some set of lungs on him." He said it was the first time all day someone didn't look at him like a bad parent, just a guy with a loud kid. That one little comment turned his whole afternoon around, I swear.

Yeah but what if that old man was also the one who taught the kid how to scream that loud

Isn't it wild how one small comment from a total stranger can completely reset your whole mood, like @vera_johnson9 said about that dad? It makes me think we all secretly want to know that someone sees us and gets what we're going through, even if it's just for a second.
