The $12 whiteboard I bought for meal planning actually worked, I hate that it did

Ive been team fancy apps for years. My wife kept nagging me about forgetting what we had in the fridge. She bought a cheap whiteboard at Target on a whim. I rolled my eyes hard. But after 3 weeks, I stopped opening the grocery app entirely. The board sits right on the fridge, and seeing the empty spots makes me write down what we actually run out of. The app had all these cool features I never used. Anybody else find that the dumb, analog solution beats the smart one?

Ha, classic. The thing is, you're not exactly wrong about the board working, but you're kind of missing the point on the apps. The apps aren't just for writing stuff down, they're for tracking prices and building a list you can share with your wife in real time. A whiteboard can't do that. But yeah, the board wins for actually seeing what's there. It's a different job, not a better or worse one. You just found the right tool for the boring part, which is remembering you're out of milk.
