The change in how I track my reading goals over the last 8 months
I used to track my reading by counting pages in a notebook, just a running total that I added up on Sundays. It felt okay but I noticed I was picking shorter books just to hit a higher page count, and that got boring fast. Around January I switched to tracking by time spent reading instead, using the timer on my phone. Now I log 20 minutes here and 45 minutes there, and the total for the week is what I look at, not some giant page number. The weird part is I've started reading thicker novels again, even though my weekly totals are smaller on paper. Has anyone else tried switching from pages to minutes, and did it mess with how you pick your next book?
