Bought a $40 bakery cake for a potluck and nobody touched it

I brought this nice looking raspberry torte from a local shop to our neighborhood gathering last Sunday. Turns out everyone went for the homemade cookies and brownies instead, and I had to take the whole thing home. Has anyone else brought something store bought to a potluck and watched it get ignored like that?

Right there with you on the store bought cake thing... I brought a decent looking one from the grocery store to a potluck and it barely got touched while the homemade stuff vanished.
