Found a hidden trailhead near the highway that nobody uses
Drove past Exit 14 on I-84 for eight years and never once thought about that gravel pull-off. Last Tuesday I had a flat and pulled over to check it, and there was a small wooden sign almost buried in weeds pointing to a loop trail. I walked it after fixing the tire, took maybe forty minutes, and saw deer tracks, an old stone foundation, and zero other people. The thing is, the state park two miles down the road charges $7 and is packed by 9 AM. This spot has the same trees and quiet, but no one even knows it exists. Why does nobody talk about these unofficial access points? Has anyone else stumbled onto a trail that just sits there unnoticed?

Does finding that spot make the state park fee feel like a scam to you too?
