Found a trick for keeping my cutting board from sliding around

Just threw a damp paper towel under it and it barely budged through a whole prep session with 3 different boards. Anybody else got a cheap fix like this that works way better than you'd expect?

Last time I tried that, my paper towel turned into confetti halfway through.

oh man, @jakejones you're speaking my language because my "damp paper towel" turned into a wet pile of lint that stuck to everything in sight, not just my cutting board but also my hands and the counter. @the_linda that silicone mat idea sounds like a lifesaver honestly, I think I'm done with the paper towel gamble after that disaster. I ended up just pressing down really hard on a damp cloth instead, which worked okay but left a weird smell after a few uses.

That damp paper towel trick is a game changer until it isn't. I swear I've had more kitchen disasters from soggy paper scraps than actual cooking mishaps.

My damp paper towel trick worked great until I grabbed the wrong roll and ended up with half a paper towel that looked like shredded cheese stuck to my cutting board. @jakejones youre not alone on the confetti disaster, I think my cat would have done a better job prepping that thing. I switched to a silicone trivet mat from the dollar store and it grips like crazy plus no soggy mess to clean up later. Three dollars and my boards actually stay put when I'm chopping onions or wrestling with a stubborn squash.
