Just found out the hard way that mail delivery times vary wildly by neighborhood
I've been expecting a package all week, checked the tracking and it said 'out for delivery' at 8am, but the mail truck didn't hit my block until 4:30pm yesterday. Turns out my mail carrier has a different route order on Wednesdays, so now I just check the porch cam instead of pacing. Has anyone else had a courier show up way later than the tracker suggests?

Man, that tracking stuff is basically a suggestion at this point, not a promise. My carrier switches up her route on Fridays and sometimes that "out for delivery" means she's literally across town on the other side of the county first. I've had packages show up at 7pm when the tracker said 11am, so now I just wait for the little notification on my phone when it's actually on my porch. The porch cam is a game changer though, I don't even bother checking the window anymore. It's wild how the same company can have such different service from one block to the next, like they don't all use the same computers or something. Anyway, you're not alone in this, it's just part of the fun of living in a city where the mail makes its own rules.

@quinna89 have you ever tried calling the local post office to see if they can actually tell you where the truck is, or do they just read the same tracker back to you? I’ve wondered if those little notifications are even tied to the real driver or just some automated guess.
