Overheard a guy at the coffee shop say 'the best part is when it clicks'

He was talking to a friend about learning guitar chords, not about work or anything big. I've been trying to pick up bass on and off for 2 years, and that phrase hit me. Made me realize I keep quitting right before the clicking part, so I'm going to push through the next rough week of practice.

Notice how everything worth doing has that ugly middle stretch. Learning to cook, getting fit, even figuring out a new video game. We bail right when it stops being fun and starts being work. That click is real though, it's not just a nice idea. Once you've felt it once, you know it's coming next time. Keep at the bass, the click is closer than you think.
