PSA: my barber in Tulsa said dont touch it for 48 hours and I laughed, now im eating my words
My barber Marcus told me last Friday not to wash my hair for 48 hours after he fixed a bad cut from another shop, and I thought that was just something they say to sound smart. I washed it that night out of habit, and by Sunday the one side he blended had puffed up and gone crooked, so I had to go back and he just looked at me and shook his head. Is there an actual reason for the 48 hour thing or is it one of those rules everyone just repeats?
People treat the 48 hour rule like gospel but barbers themselves can't seem to agree on it. Some say it's about letting natural oils come back, others say it's just so the cut "settles" into place. Meanwhile plenty of guys wash the same day and their hair looks fine, so I'm not sold that a single wash is what wrecked your fade.
