Thought replacing a toilet flapper would take 10 minutes, it took 3 trips and 4 hours
The flapper in our upstairs bathroom started running non stop on Saturday morning so I figured easy fix, watched a 4 minute video and headed to the hardware store. Got the wrong size flapper first, went back, then the chain kept catching so the tank would not seal, and I made a second trip for a different chain. Turns out the fill valve was also shot and had been slowly leaking for who knows how long, so the "simple" swap turned into replacing the whole inside of the tank. Four hours, three store runs, and one soaked bath mat later it finally stopped running. Does anyone else feel like the 10 minute home repair videos are lying to us on purpose?
