Hit 10,000 steps a day for 6 months straight and my back pain just vanished without me noticing

I was so focused on hitting the number every day that I didn't realize three weeks ago I stopped needing my heating pad at night, which surprised me more than the milestone itself.

Idk if it was the walking itself or just finally getting off my butt every day, but I had the same thing happen with my lower back after about 4 months. What really sealed it for me was adding a quick 5 minute stretch routine right after my walk, just some hamstring and hip flexor stuff. You might not notice the difference until you skip a day and feel that familiar ache creep back in. The heating pad getting dusty is a weirdly good feeling though, like your body finally fixed itself without you having to think about it.

Wait, isn't it better to stretch BEFORE you walk to warm up those muscles?
