Hit 10,000 steps a day for a whole month and it totally surprised me
I have a desk job and I never thought I'd hit 10,000 steps in a day, let alone for 30 days straight. But I started parking at the far end of the lot at the Target in my town and taking a 15 minute walk after lunch. What got me was how my back pain just kind of faded away after week two. Did anyone else notice a random health perk when they started moving more?

Nah, walking 10k steps just made my knees hurt worse honestly.

Ask if you changed anything else around the same time besides just walking. I found my back pain faded after a few weeks too but that was because I also stopped sitting on my wallet. Did your standing posture or desk setup change at all since that can make a bigger difference than the steps alone.

@hall.joel maybe your knees hurt because you changed your gait without realizing it. That happened to me when I tried hitting 10k steps - my hips started aching and it was actually my shoes being worn down funny. Also check if you're landing harder on your heels now, that can mess up knees way more than the walking itself.
