Oh COME ON. That 80% thing is just Apple saving your battery, it's a FEATURE not a bug.

yeah hollyl25 is right about the optimized charging thing but i gotta say it doesn't just apply to Apple phones lol. android has had that feature for years too. most newer phones will slow down or stop charging at 80% if they think you're gonna leave it plugged in overnight. it's actually a good thing for battery health long term. but if you wanna bypass it you can usually find that toggle in your battery settings under "adaptive charging" or "battery protection" depending on what brand you have.

Sounds like you might have the optimized battery charging setting turned on. I read somewhere that it learns your daily charging habits and holds at 80% until right before you normally unplug it. That way the battery doesn't sit at 100% all night which can wear it out faster. You can turn that off in the battery settings if you want it to go all the way to full right away. It might be worth checking if that's what's going on before you drive yourself crazy over it.
