Why do hotel ice machines sound like a jet taking off at 2am
Stayed at a place in Boise last week and the ice machine two doors down kicked on at 2am and rattled the whole wall. Got me wondering why they all sound the same no matter what hotel you're in. Is it just me or does everyone else hear these things?

Did that thing wake you up too? Ugh, I swear every hotel ice machine is built to sound like a plane landing right outside your door. Ours in Boise did the same thing and I just laid there staring at the ceiling.
