Finally checked out that thrift store plant shop on Elm Street after months of driving past it
Had $12 in my pocket and walked out with a huge pothos cutting that would've cost $35 at the big box store, definitely made my lunch break feel less like a grind - anyone else find random plant spots that beat your day job's stress?

Oh wow that's a steal for a pothos cutting... did you happen to notice if they had any of those weird variegated ones people are always hunting for?

My neighbor down the street had a little setup in her garage for years where she sold her overgrown spider plants and snake plants for five bucks each. I used to stop by every Friday after my morning shift and pick up something new. She finally closed up shop when she moved to Florida last spring, but I still have one of her spider plants that has to be ten years old now. It's got little babies hanging off it constantly, and I give them away to anyone who stops by. There's something about those random little plant spots that feels more personal than a regular store.

Man people really get sentimental over plants huh. It's just a spider plant though. They grow like weeds. I've thrown out at least a dozen of those things because they just won't stop multiplying. Not trying to rain on your parade but five bucks for a plant you could get for free from anyone with a mature one feels like you were doing her a favor. You probably could have just asked for cuttings and saved the cash.
