My boss paid me $22 an hour to sit in a room for 3 days, and that's when my band got a paying gig
Last Tuesday through Thursday I had to attend a mandatory safety training in Tulsa where we literally watched videos about ladder placement for 6 hours a day, so I brought my sketchbook and wrote half a new song in the back row. Thursday night our guitarist called and said the bar on 11th Street wants us to play every other Friday starting in July, which is $150 a guy plus tips, meaning I might finally cover my pedalboard. I sat in that fluorescent room covered in donuts and coffee stains grinning at my phone like an idiot while a guy droned on about forklift zones. Anyone else ever get the best news of their month while stuck in the most boring place on earth?
