Picked a 70% pay cut to teach art part time in Austin...
I was making $85k in corporate graphic design but hated every meeting. I took a job teaching art at a community center here for $26k a year and my stress dropped so much. Has anyone else made a big money sacrifice for something that actually felt right?

Used to roll my eyes at people who said they'd take a pay cut for happiness but now I get it completely. Good on you for making that leap.

@mark_carr7 isn't it better to just find a job that doesn't make you miserable without taking a pay cut? I get the happiness part but giving up money seems like a bad trade when you can usually find something decent in between.
