Unpopular opinion: That one negative review actually fixed my pottery glaze issue
I had this glaze recipe I was using for like 8 months and it kept coming out blotchy on my mugs. One buyer left a 3 star review saying the color looked muddy. I was mad at first, spent 2 weeks ignoring it. Then I actually looked at my firing temps and realized I was going 50 degrees too low. Changed my schedule and now the glazes pop. Anybody else get handed a fix by a critic instead of a teacher?

Got a sewing pattern fixed by a 2 star review once.

Is it really that serious though? Like, who hurt you over a sewing pattern, @the_linda?

Oh man, I feel this one in my soul. I once left a 3 star review on a widget pattern and the designer mailed me a handwritten apology letter and a revised pattern. Talk about taking things personally, right? Your mileage may vary, but I've learned the hard way that some crafters pour their whole heart into these things and can't separate their feelings from the product. I'm probably just as guilty honestly, I've caught myself getting defensive over a poorly written PDF before.
