Hit 200 consecutive days walking my dog before 7 AM and I almost missed it

I started walking my dog Max every morning before work just to get some air. Two hundred days later I checked my app and couldn't believe I had kept it up. It hit me that this little routine probably improved my sleep and mood more than any gym membership I ever had. Has anyone else hit a random streak that snuck up on them?

Man same thing happened to me with my lunch walks. Started just getting out of the office for 15 minutes to clear my head and ended up going over 300 days without missing until I got sick last winter. The mornings where I really didn't want to go were the ones that mattered most. Had this one freezing fog morning where everything looked ghostly and I almost turned around after two blocks but Max just kept pulling me forward. That day taught me the habit was way bigger than my mood.

Funny how the small habits end up being the ones that stick around. Way easier to keep up with something simple than the big grand plans everyone starts in January. Those little routines just quietly build something real without you even noticing.

That's the part I'm trying to figure out. Did you have any specific mornings where you almost skipped it but went anyway, and what got you out the door? Because those are the days where the habit either gets cemented or it falls apart. I'm curious if there was a rainstorm or a particularly cold morning where you had to fight that internal battle. Those little victories against your own laziness are what actually build the discipline. Sounds like you probably learned something about yourself on those days.
