Hit 52 weeks straight of composting kitchen scraps and still can't believe how much trash I'm not throwing out
I started this little bin under my sink about a year ago, just tossing in veggie peels and coffee grounds. I live in a small apartment in Nashville so I thought it would just get gross or attract bugs. Turns out, if you balance the greens with shredded paper or leaves from my buddy's yard, it barely smells at all. I take the bucket to a community drop off every Sunday and my regular trash went from two bags a week to maybe one bag every two weeks. It's way less work than I thought and I'm honestly surprised more people don't try it in a city setting. Has anyone else had luck with a small space setup like this?

This is the exact kind of small scale win that proves you don't need a big yard or a fancy setup. The weekly drop off routine is such a smart way to keep it manageable.

Honestly the best part nobody talks about is how this system lets you experiment with weird crops you can't find in stores. I've been doing a similar thing with kohlrabi and the neighbors think I'm crazy but it's legit delicious.
