Everyone told me to just buy a 3000 PSI washer from Home Depot for $400 and blast the driveway in an hour. I did that for two summers and it kept stripping the top layer off my concrete, leaving these ugly streaks near the garage door. Last April I switched to a stiff $18 broom, a pump sprayer of diluted Simple Green, and about 90 minutes of scraping on my knees. The grime actually comes up instead of getting pushed into the pores, and my neighbor across the street asked what contractor I hired. Now the washer collects dust in the shed, so has anyone gone back to hand scrubbing even though it sounds like the dumbest thing ever?
