My lunch break protest in Chicago turned into a full-time routine
Tbh I used to eat at my desk every single day, just staring at spreadsheets while shoving down a sad sandwich. Then one Tuesday I got fed up and walked to that little plaza by the river with my turkey wrap. Now I've done it 40 times in the last 3 months, and I actually remember what the sky looks like. The weird part is people started joining me, now there's like 6 of us that meet up at 12:15. Is this just how everyone else has been functioning all along, or did I stumble onto some secret work-life hack? Has anyone else turned a one-off walk into a daily thing without meaning to?

The whole desk-lunch thing is a trap man. We just get so locked into the grind that we forget the sun is still up there doing its thing. You didn't stumble onto a hack, you just remembered how to be a person again. That little group you got is the real win honestly. Having people to eat with makes the afternoon feel ten times lighter. Keep going, and dont let anyone shame you for taking that hour.
