The spreadsheet autosave that crashed my entire garden plan in Omaha

Last April I spent two full evenings building a 47-row planting schedule in Excel, color coded by zone and harvest date. One click of the wrong macro and the file saved over itself with blank cells, no backup. I sat there at my kitchen table at 10pm staring at a grid of nothing. That's when I realized I'd been trusting software more than my own paper notes, which my grandpa always kept. Now I print a hard copy every season and write changes in pencil. Has anyone else had a data loss moment that forced you back to old school methods?

Lost my whole recipe collection once to a corrupted memory card. Now my grandma's handwritten cards live in a battered shoebox and frankly they taste better that way.

Ugh, that blank grid feeling is the worst. Did the same thing with all my seed inventory last year, lost three years of notes on what sprouted and what flopped. Now it's a spiral notebook and a sharpie on the garage shelf, and honestly it feels more real anyway.
