Vent: My washing machine died mid-cycle yesterday and flooded the laundry room
I was just trying to wash a load of towels yesterday afternoon in my 8 year old Whirlpool and it stopped spinning then dumped water everywhere. The floor is all warped now near the baseboards in my place here in Cincinnati. I had to spend $300 on a emergency plumber to shut it off and now I'm looking at paying $600 for a new one. Has anyone else had a appliance just give up without warning like that?

oh man that sucks so bad. i had a similar thing happen with my dryer a couple years ago. it was making a weird noise for like a week but i just ignored it and then one day it just stopped heating completely. had to replace the whole heating element and it cost me almost as much as a new dryer. the worst part is when appliances give up with no warning at all. like at least give me a sign so i can prepare for the expense you know?

My dryer did the same thing right after I finally paid off my credit card.
