A lot of owners here are missing out on the Motor City Match grant deadlines
I keep seeing people apply for the quarterly rounds a week before the cutoff, which is way too late. The city needs your full business plan and financials, and that takes more than seven days to do right. I helped a friend get $25,000 for her Corktown cafe by starting the paperwork two months ahead of the spring deadline. How many of you have actually applied for one of these grants?

Wait, people try to do that in just ONE week?

Yeah the "one week" thing used to sound crazy to me too. Then I saw how some people break it into small daily tasks. They don't do everything perfect, they just push through a rough first version. It's more about momentum than a finished product. Changed how I see those quick challenges completely.

Honestly it's not just grants, it's everything. People wait until the last minute to renew car tabs, file taxes, even book holiday flights. That scramble is a lifestyle choice at this point. Seeing a deadline as the start date instead of the finish line is how you end up paying late fees forever. Getting that money for your business is the same basic skill.
