Am I the only one who spent $700 on a cheap website builder and got zero leads from it

I figured since I'm running my own landscaping company in Detroit, I needed a website to look legit. So I dropped $700 on one of those drag and drop site builders with the fancy templates. Spent a whole weekend putting it together, pictures of my best jobs, my contact info, everything. Three months went by and I checked the analytics out of curiosity. Turns out I got maybe 12 visits total and not a single person filled out the contact form. I could have spent that money on a simple Facebook ad or just printed flyers and gotten way more eyes on my business. Now I'm sitting here wondering if I should just scrap the whole thing and try something else. Has anyone else had better luck with a different approach for getting customers online?

Wait, only 12 visits in three months? That's crazy, honestly. Tbh, it sounds like that builder didn't do anything for you in terms of getting found. Ngl, I've heard people waste way more than that on those sites and get the same nothing. You should really look into just getting a simple one-page site made and then run some targeted Facebook ads for your area, that's where the real leads come from for local services.

Ngl @linda114, I used to think those builder sites were the way to go because everyone said you needed one. But seeing your numbers totally changed my mind. Like, you paid money and got nothing back, that's rough. My cousin runs a plumbing business and he wasted like six months on a similar setup before someone told him to just do Facebook ads. Now he spends maybe $200 a month and gets booked up for weeks straight. So yeah, you're right, a simple site plus targeted local ads seems way smarter than throwing cash at those builder platforms.

My buddy had the same problem @linda114, wasted cash on a builder then switched to Facebook ads and got actual calls.
