Can we talk about the new parking meter app crashing during the lunch rush

It completely failed on me last Thursday when a customer was trying to pay. I had to run out and feed the meter with quarters I dug out of my car console. Has anyone found a reliable workaround for when the app goes down?

What's wrong with just using quarters?

Quarters are a pain if you need to pay a parking meter for more than an hour. You end up carrying a huge, heavy pocketful of change just to avoid a ticket. That weight and jingling gets old really fast.

Nina, what's wrong with quarters? They're basically tiny metal discs of pure stress when the app fails. My workaround is a permanent coffee can of change in the passenger footwell, which just turns my car into a giant piggy bank on wheels. It feels like we're going backwards, carrying ransom money for a parking spot. You'd think they could make an app that works when people actually need to park, right?
