Gave a free consultation and walked away with a $2,400 headache

I offered a 30 minute no charge strategy call to a new cafe owner in Hamtramck last week, they took my advice on pricing, then blamed me when their regulars complained, so now I'm wondering if anyone else has stopped doing free advice after a bad experience like this?

That Hamtramck spot on Joseph Campau, right? I feel for you. I had a similar thing with a food truck last year, gave them a solid menu price tip and they came back at me because their lunch rush dropped for two days. It's like people hear what they want and then forget you told them the whole plan, not just the one part. And the regulars thing, oh man, regulars always complain first before they adjust, that's just how it goes. I still do free calls but I make people sign a little note saying it's just advice, not a guarantee, which sounds stiff but it's saved me a headache or two.
