Slab pour went sideways with the wrong crew, glad I called it early

Last month I had a choice between two concrete crews for a 22,000 square foot warehouse floor, the cheaper guys promised 3 days but had no QA paperwork, the other cost 12% more but brought their own laser screed. I went with the pricier crew after the cheap guys showed up with a cracked mixer and no rebar plan. They finished in 2 and a half days and the flatness test passed first try. Anyone else pay extra just to avoid babysitting a job?
