That coffee shop on Gratiot made me finally ditch spreadsheets for good

Was grabbing a quick espresso at Red Hook last Tuesday and overheard a baker complaining about tracking ingredient costs by hand. Realized I'd been doing the same stupid thing for my cleaning business for 2 years. Got home that night and set up a free inventory app. Took 45 minutes and now I know exactly how much I'm spending on supplies each month. Anyone else been putting off a simple fix like that?

Yeah I literally just read something about how small business owners waste like 40 hours a year on manual inventory stuff. That's a whole week of life gone just writing things down on paper. It's wild how we all do this thing where we know there's a better way but just keep doing the old stupid way until something snaps us out of it. That baker probably did you a favor without even knowing it.

That baker saving you 45 minutes is proof most systems just need one pissed off moment to fix.

Get that baker a medal or something honestly. It's like we all know those little time wasters exist but nobody wants to be the one to stop and fix them. I bet that baker was just so fed up with the system that they finally snapped and did something about it. It's funny how one person's meltdown can save everyone else a ton of hassle.
