The $750 'business coach' I mocked now runs my sales strategy

Last January I paid a guy named Marcus from Dearborn $750 for a 4 week sales bootcamp thinking it was a total waste. My skepticism came from years of watching network marketing types promise miracles, but he actually sat with me on calls and showed me where I was losing customers in the first 30 seconds. Now I use his opening script every single day and my close rate went from about 1 in 10 to 1 in 4. Has anyone else had a service they swore was hype turn out to be the real deal, or am I the only one eating crow?

Hold on there, let's not hand this guy a trophy just yet. You went from 10% to 25% which sounds great, but that could also be you just getting more comfortable talking to people, not some magic script. I'd want to see your numbers three months from now before I start calling Marcus a genius. Plus, $750 for a few scripts and some call critiques feels steep when you could probably find the same advice free on YouTube if you dug deep enough. Sounds like you got a good kick in the pants, but let's not pretend you didn't also do the heavy lifting yourself.
