A quick tip on checking for injector knock that saved me a ton of time

Honestly, I see a lot of guys just listening for a knock and assuming it's a rod bearing. Ngl, on these 6.7 Powerstrokes, a lot of that noise can be a single bad injector. I hook up a scan tool and watch the cylinder contribution numbers while it's running rough. The one that's way off, like showing +4.0 or more, is usually the culprit. I found this out after swapping two good injectors on a truck last month before I checked the data. Has anyone else had a knock turn out to be just an injector on a different engine?

Read that in a forum for the 5.9 Cummins too.

It's like when my phone acts up and I restart it before checking the battery. Jumping to the big fix first is just human nature.

My experience says rod knocks sound way different than injector noise, actually.
