Flatbed vs. stepside on heavy loads - no contest for me

Honestly, I ran a stepside dually on my F-450 for 2 years and swapped to a flatbed last spring. The difference in weight distribution and tie-downs is night and day, especially hauling pipe bundles out of Odessa. Ngl, the flatbed makes chaining down a load way easier and I save time on every job. Anyone else made the switch and felt the same?

MAN, I feel this in my bones. Switching to a flatbed was the best move I ever made for hauling heavy stuff.

Did you get the same hassle with tie-downs at first though @gibson.avery? I spent a whole weekend figuring out straps and chains before I finally got it right.

Amen, @gibson.avery knows the struggle - spent my whole Saturday swearing at straps and chains on that first haul too.
