Heads up on injector cups on 6.7 Powerstrokes

Had one crack on me last Wednesday during a routine injector swap on a 2015 F-450, dumped all the coolant out before I caught it. Has anyone else seen these fail without any warning signs beforehand?

Routine injector swap" - yeah, nothing says routine like dumping all your coolant on the shop floor for fun. These cups are basically made of eggshells and hope, I swear they crack just from you LOOKING at them wrong. I always keep a couple spares in the toolbox now because that surprise is NEVER a good one.

Right? I keep spares too, learned that one the hard way.

Learned that one the hard way myself last year, @william_harris is spot on about these being eggshells. I cracked a cup just tightening the bolt on a 7.3 Powerstroke, didn't even sneeze on it. Had to walk to the parts store dripping coolant the whole way, felt like an idiot. Now I keep three spares in the glovebox and one in my lunchbox just in case.
