Hit a pothole outside Nashville that cracked my oil pan - now I always check my skid plate bolts

Was rolling through construction on I-40 near the 219 exit around 2am, didn't see that monster pothole till it was too late. Cracked the pan on my '18 T680, lost about 3 quarts before I caught it. Took me 4 hours on the shoulder to patch it up with some JB Weld and get to a shop. Ever since then I spend an extra 5 minutes every oil change making sure all those skid plate bolts are torqued right. Any of you guys run into a pothole that did some real damage?

But were you running stock skid plates or aftermarket? I've heard the factory ones on the T680 are flimsy as hell compared to some of the reinforced steel options, especially for guys hauling heavy loads through construction zones. A buddy of mine bent his skid plate into a pretzel hitting a chunk of concrete on I-24, and he swears by the heavy duty ones now.

4 hours on the side of I-40 with JB Weld sounds like a real party...

@jennifer833 more like a nightmare party with JB Weld and traffic. Potholes are the worst, they'll get you when you least expect it. Found myself checking bolts twice after that too.
